As an Assistant Manager you will be part of the Client Accounting team and will be responsible for overseeing relevant client accounting operational processes ensuring the highest standards of delivery.

Role and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review daily bookkeeping and accounting activities to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Prepare and review Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations in accordance with Lux GAAP and IFRS

  • Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements under Lux GAAP and IFRS

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in line with internal policies and regulatory standards

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of all client accounting outputs

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Prepare and review tax, VAT filings and other regulatory submissions

  • Stay up to date with Luxembourg accounting, tax, and regulatory developments, assisting with implementation of regulatory changes

  • Assist in monitoring compliance with internal controls, procedures, and service-level standards

Audit & External Stakeholders

  • Prepare audit support files and documentation for interim and annual audits

  • Liaise with external auditors under senior guidance to resolve audit queries and provide required information

Client Service & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries, responding effectively and escalating where appropriate

  • Maintain client dashboards, trackers, and timelines to monitor deliverables and service quality

  • Ensure proactive communication regarding deadlines, issues, and deliverables

  • Operations, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Admin team members to ensure Palmer's smooth operations

  • Test new system features and provide structured feedback to support system enhancements

  • Lead or support technology integration initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and client service delivery

Teamwork & Professional Standards

  • Work closely with Palmer’s senior management, as well as cross-functional teams, to ensure smooth operations

  • Uphold a collaborative, professional, and client-focused team culture

  • Support knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior team members, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in either Finance, Economics or related field, ACCA, ACA or equivalent

  • 4–6 years’ experience in Luxembourg fund accounting or professional services

  • Strong knowledge of Lux GAAP, IFRS, VAT, and NAV calculations

  • Experience in private capital and alternative assets

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and use of accounting software (SaaS based)

  • A growth mindset, especially around data management, AI tools, automation and basic programming concepts, with curiosity to learn and apply new technologies in your daily work

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, build strong working relationships, share knowledge and contribute to a cooperative and high-performing team environment

Languages:

  • Full fluency in English (spoken and written), French and/or German is considered an asset
