As a Senior Fund Accountant you will be part of the Client Accounting team, with a focus on our real estate fund clients, and will be responsible for overseeing relevant client accounting operational processes to ensure the highest standards of delivery.

Role and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Prepare and review daily bookkeeping and accounting activities for real estate fund structures to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and review Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including the fair valuation of investment property in line with IAS 40
• Prepare, review and reconcile financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP, including rental income, service charge and property expense accounting
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in line with internal policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure timely, accurate and compliant delivery of all client accounting outputs

Regulatory & Compliance
• Prepare and review tax filings, economic substance submissions and other regulatory filings relevant to real estate holding structures
• Stay up to date with Jersey accounting, tax and regulatory developments affecting real estate fund structures, assisting with implementation of regulatory changes
• Assist in monitoring compliance with internal controls, procedures and service-level standards

Audit & External Stakeholders
• Prepare audit support files and documentation for interim and annual audits
• Liaise with external auditors and independent property valuers under senior guidance to resolve audit and valuation queries
Client Service & Stakeholder Management
• Act as a key point of contact for client queries, responding effectively and escalating where appropriate
• Maintain client dashboards, trackers and timelines to monitor deliverables and service quality
• Ensure proactive communication regarding deadlines, issues and deliverables
Operations, Systems & Process Improvement
• Collaborate with the Admin team members to ensure Palmer's smooth operations
• Test new system features and provide structured feedback to support system enhancements
• Support technology integration initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and client service delivery
Teamwork & Professional Standards
• Work closely with Palmer's senior management, as well as cross-functional teams, to ensure smooth operations
• Uphold a collaborative, professional and client-focused team culture
• Support knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior team members, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Experience:
• Have or be working towards a recognised professional qualification (being a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, JFSC table 4 or table 5 qualification i.e. CGIUK or ACCA)
• 3–5 years' experience in fund accounting or professional services, with direct experience in real estate or property fund structures
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and NAV calculations, including investment property valuation and lease accounting
• Experience working with real estate holding structures (e.g. JPUTs, REITs, property SPVs) is required

• High attention to detail and accuracy, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Proficiency in Excel and use of accounting software (SaaS based)
• A growth mindset, especially around data management, AI tools, automation and basic programming concepts, with curiosity to learn and apply new technologies in your daily work

Languages:
Full fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
