We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Manager to join our Loan Agency team in Madrid. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of loan agency mandates, lead client relationships and contribute to the growth and development of the team. You will work closely with senior management to deliver outstanding service to our clients while ensuring full regulatory compliance across our Spanish and European operations.

Role and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of loan agency clients, including borrowers, arrangers and lenders
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and retention
Coordinate client onboarding, including KYC/AML documentation, account opening and system set-up
Respond to client queries promptly and professionally, escalating issues where appropriate
Participate in client review meetings and periodic reporting calls
Service Delivery Excellence
Manage day-to-day loan agency operations across a portfolio of syndicated and bilateral loan transactions
Oversee the administration of facility agreements, including drawdown notices, repayment, interest calculations and fee processing
Monitor and manage covenant compliance, agent consent requests and amendment/waiver processes
Ensure accurate and timely processing of all transactions in accordance with facility documentation
Coordinate with legal counsel, lenders and borrowers on complex transactional matters
Maintain and update internal systems, records and reports to the highest standard
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional development
Assist with the training and development of analysts and associates within the Loan Agency team
Contribute to team capacity planning, workflow management and quality assurance
Act as a role model for Palmer's values: Focus, Discipline, Accountability and Team Spirit
Business Development & Strategy
Support business development initiatives, including preparation of proposals and participation in pitches
Identify and escalate cross-sell opportunities across Palmer's broader service offering
Contribute to the development of the Loan Agency service line in Spain, including local market growth initiatives
Assist in building Palmer's profile in the Spanish and European loan market through networking and market engagement
Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum 6–8 years of experience in loan agency, corporate trust or debt capital markets administration
Strong knowledge of syndicated loan documentation (LMA standards) and facility agency operations
Prior experience in a client-facing or relationship management role within financial services
Experience managing and developing junior team members
Degree educated, preferably in Finance, Law, Business or a related discipline
Familiarity with Spanish financial regulatory requirements is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and senior stakeholders
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Experience with loan administration systems is desirable
Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is essential; additional European languages are an advantage
